karanoah has been chosen to perform the ending theme for the second cour of the TV anime Gachiakuta, which is generating a huge buzz both in Japan and internationally!
The new song, titled “BAN”, is karanoah’s first-ever track written specifically for an anime. It captures the unique world of Gachiakuta—both the anime and manga—through music.
“BAN” will be released digitally on Monday, October 13. The song is a chaotic and high-energy rock tune that races forward relentlessly—despite being an ending theme—reflecting Gachiakuta’s intense atmosphere. The track incorporates elements that represent karanoah’s own interpretation of Gachiakuta, with frontman Yudai—already a big fan of the series—leading the creative process. The unpredictable musical progression, a signature of karanoah’s style, beautifully translates Gachiakuta’s world into sound.
The sound design blends densely layered electronic tracks that create a sense of chaos with raw, human-feeling live instruments. This unique combination was crafted to evoke the image of Gachiakuta’s characters making music out of junk. You can even hear gimmicks like the clanging of cans, the banging of frying pans, and the crumpling of paper—elements that bring the world of the series to life through sound.
Lyrically, the song was written with the idea of two people at odds due to slight differences in environment or circumstance. It expresses the inner struggles and deep desires of the characters living within the story.
While staying true to the world of Gachiakuta, “BAN” is also a powerful showcase of karanoah’s identity as a band.
Additionally, the music video for “BAN” is set to premiere on YouTube on Monday, October 13 at 9:00 PM (JST).

When creating this song, the world of Gachiakuta was my top priority. I kept thinking things like, “If this element was added into the music, would it get people more into the story?” or “What could this character be feeling in this moment?”—to the point where it felt less like imagination and more like wild fantasizing, which for an anime fan like me made it an unbelievably happy and enjoyable process. There’s so much I could say that even 10,000 words wouldn’t be enough, but more than anything, I feel truly honored to contribute to this series I love through music. Thank you so much.
This song is 100% my own interpretation of the series explored from different perspectives, and I hope you all enjoy it. The more you listen to it, the more you might discover...

I actually read through the manga to work on this song, and I think we succeeded in creating what could be called our masterpiece: the sound of Karanoah matched perfectly with the world of Gachiakuta. I hope this song reaches loads of people alongside Gachiakuta.
▼Kazuki (drums)
This was karanoah’s first anime tie-up, and just like Rudo, we gave it our all to create it. I think it’s a track that both channels the world of Gachiakuta and packs the unique sound of Karanoah, including Yudai’s distinctive lyrics and rapid-fire delivery. There’s also all kinds of sounds blended into the drums and other percussion. Be sure to check it out together with the anime!
